Padumanaabhaa Sahityam – Meaning:

Pallavi:

O supreme spirit, who resides in Vaikuntha with a lotus on his navel, you are the form of the supreme soul, destroyer of negative situations, you ride on Garuda and your history is immaculate.

Anupallavi:

You hold supreme power, dwell on the ocean of milk, and made Adiseshu as thy bed, You are the best in the entire Yadava clan, you went to the hermitage with sage Vishwamitra as per your father Dashardha Maharaja’s order with sage Vishwamitra and saved the yagnya performed there in the form of Raama.

CharaNam:

My salutations to you Sri Ramachandra, who ruled over RavaNaasura’s brother VibheeshaNa,

Salutations to you who appeared and saved the elephant who prayed for you, when he was attacked by a crocodile.

You always bestow good fortune and stand strong like a pillar to protect us from our enemies,

The one who amused the mind of Indra, the lord of gods, as Lord Krishna you have fulfilled the boon given to Jambavanta in Rama’s avatar! I am mesmerized by knowing all the supreme qualities in you and turned into your feet now, O Lord Vitala please protect me.

Tip:

When you know that there is something wrong with what you are practising, do not repeat the same wrong thing again and again; instead, give yourself some time to recollect the right one. If you practice the wrong one your mind will grasp the same wrong one but not the one which is right.
