Maha gaNapatim lyrics in English with meaning: This song is a very popular song written and composed in the Sanskrit language by Shri Muttuswamy Deekshitar.
His mudra is “Guruguha”. His compositions are widely sung in concerts of Carnatic classical music.
He is one of the trinity of Carnatic music, the other two being Thyagaraja Swamy and Shyama Sastri.
Maha gaNapatim – Lyrics meaning:
Pallavi: I pray wholeheartedly to the great GaNesha who is revered by the sages like VashishTa, Vaamadeva, and others.
CharaNam: The Lord GaNesha, who is the son of Lord Shiva and glorified by me (Muttuswamy Deekshitar) is shining serenely like million suns.
While sage Vyasa was recounting the details of the Mahabharata, Vighneswara, who had a rat as his vehicle and was fond of Modaks, wrote incessantly with great care.
