Vedukondama lyrics in English with meaning: This kirtan is a very famous kirtan composed by Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, a great devotee of Tirumala Venkateshwara.
Here the poet is calling people to pray to Lord Srinivasa who fulfills the desires of the devotees.
Vedukondama – Lyrics meaning:
Pallavi: O people, let us pray to Lord Venkateswara who lives on Venkatagiri.
CharaNam 1: The beloved Lord of the world who exists from the beginning of the universe and is worshiped by all, he who removes evil from our minds.
In Tirupati, daily food offerings are made to the Lord in a new pot, which is given to a potter, hence Lord Venkateswara is called “Tomani Palyalavadu”, such a Sri Venkateswara Swamy come let us pray.
CharaNam 2: Let us pray to Lord Vishnu who has a lotus flower on his belly, who pays interest to Kubera that are offered by his devotees, he who gives progeny to childless women and gives happiness to cows.
CharaNam 3: Let us pray to Lord Venkateshwara the one who happily fulfills our desires. He is the husband of Alamelumanga and the Lord lives on Venkatagiri.
