What marketing actually is and how digital marketing works??

Do you want to know the ‘Marketing Strategies’, earn money and settle down in your life?? Then this is not for you. Strangely there is no strategy to do marketing..

Now you are thinking, does she have any idea about marketing?? And why will I not settle down after earning enough money??

Read till the end, you will come to know why I said that, and you will also agree with me that there is no strategy at all, finally you are going to find out that anyone can do marketing. Do follow me through to know more….

Okay, let’s start then..

Do know who you are and what your passion is.

Before starting your business, you learn about yourself properly and find out, what you are capable of and what your passion is..

If you have more than one passion (to select your niche) and are unable to decide? No worries, write down everything and prepare a survey copy and get it filled out by your family members and close friends. Don’t allow them to talk to you about it. Let them take time, think, and do it all by themselves. After the results, you will come to know what you are good at and capable of, then go on accordingly.

Tip to select your niche: Funny, but it works most of the time. Go on….

Our generation is so lucky because computers are more helpful than ever nowadays if we want to know about something, we can google about it and there is a 90% possibility that we are going to get the information or at least some sort of clues or guidance and if not, then we are lucky enough to start our niche with it (if the niche has demand).

Want to know whether your niche has demanded or not?? Then..

Simple, as usual, do a survey, read about it, and publish something related to your niche in social media and see what kind of response you get. If you succeed, just leave a note of gratitude to your fellow friends who had spent some time helping you. This is going to be an added advantage for your future projects.

You can also use tools to find out about your niche demand and if your niche is not a demanded one, modify it accordingly to make it a demanded one.

Ex: If you are passionate about teaching music, then you select what kind of music and try to be more specific about it. Here, music is a category and there are many subcategories in it, like classical music, western music, light music, instrumental, vocal so on. Hence, make your selection wisely.

When you are more specific, then you are going to hold the more interested followers who are coming under your niche, it will help you to proceed further.

Analyze the breadth of your customers, without that you cannot fix your target.

Once you have decided on your niche, then it’s time to set a big target, and it’s always better to divide your target into parts to understand and achieve it easily. It will help you to organize things step by step and finally to reach our target.

Start your business with a very good quality product. Cheap and nasty products have no life and even you don’t buy cheap products for yourself, right?? Your product should sell itself without you putting much effort to do marketing; it’s going to happen when you maintain quality.

Do advertise your product so that people will come to know that there is a product in the market. Don’t give fake information about your product to gather the audience. Do remember you need customers not an audience.

And now, here comes Marketing into the scene to do its part. If you have a good product and are given an informative advertisement, then your marketing part is going to be very easy to handle.

Marketing used to be in the traditional way earlier (And even now some people follow the traditional marketing by using pamphlets, banners, newspapers, magazines, radio, Television so on), where we may not be able to analyze how people are reacting to it. But in the current digital era, we have the flexibility to contact many people with one click. We can say simply, people out there are just one click away and we can contact them at our convenience and theirs too. Just leave a message or an email, then they will reply to you if interested. This is how digital marketing works and here we can analyze how likable is our product to the people out there.

Being it in a traditional way or digital way marketing your product and getting profits is your ultimate aim, so we can follow whichever is flexible for us. Though digital marketing is the trend now and people are opting for it, if you are getting good profits by using traditional marketing, then there is no point to use digital marketing and wasting our time and money.

Select your lucrative niche, create curiosity through your content and get the attention of the people by advertising and building trust through your approach. If you are able to build trust then there is a 90% possibility that you convert that person into your customer and with lifelong trust, he will become your brand ambassador for free. Isn’t it exciting??

There are different ways to reach customers digitally. Ex: Ads, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), and so on..

Let’s see one by one

Ads: We can give Facebook ads, and Google Ads by paying them. When a person searches our niche, since we are paying for ads our site is going to appear on top and there is more possibility that the person is going to click on the site which appears on top, which is going to be ours and they are going to enter our land page by clicking on it. Now the big task begins to convert him into a customer.

Email Marketing: Once the person enters our site, we request the email id to send time-to-time notifications and offer to make a bond with them. When the content in the email gives full information then there is a possibility that the person who is more likely going to be our customer will contact us. So, content should be informative and it is neither too short nor too long. It should be an adequate one and should create curiosity.

Content Marketing: In the marketing field good content will make your product take off. The content is the conversation that you are going to have with your becoming a customer. When you are writing content about your product, think like a customer and be in their shoes to understand your customer better. Maybe content is king, but if your product is not up to the mark, then your king will be defeated.

Social Media Marketing: What should I say about social media; nowadays everyone is familiar with it. People are spending much time on social media and keep on searching for something or other thing and people are so friendly with one another without even knowing each other personally. Funny right?

You can use Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.. to market your product. If you don’t know how to do it, simply search in the media itself, and you will get numerous ideas.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Both differ from each other and have connections with each other too. SEO means if a person is searching for something related to your niche, and your website is in a very constructive way, then the search engine decides to have your website on the top, and people may click on the first appear first sites, to happen this you have to do a lot of work and it also takes lots of time. If you want to get instant results then go to SEM where you can give an ad by paying to search engine provider and make your site appear on top, again which people may click on the first appear first sites. Whatever you follow your eventual goal is to convert your audience into customers.

There are other ways too to do marketing, like affiliate marketing, blogging, influence marketing, and many more. Start doing and keep on doing, you will learn more and more and then you will be an expert in it.

Have knowledge about everything and apply it to market your service/product. Don’t depend on one and wait for the profits because it won’t give fruitful results unless you try other ways too.

Create your personal brand, approach people in a unique way, give some information about your product, and for remaining let them get in touch with you. If they come back you are half successful as a marketer and after converting them into your customer, you are successful as the creator of your own brand. A personal brand is more important and more trustworthy as well.

In any business you have to follow the same steps to get succeed, i.e. select a powerful niche — approach the people with a good quality product — convert them into your customers — and ultimately you will have your money in your pocket.

A business always certainly depends on customer satisfaction (well, we can’t satisfy all of them but can keep on trying), not on luck or strategy or anything else..

Certainly, you will improve yourself day by day and when you are getting good profits, I am sure you do not think to a full stop (.), rather you continue (……) with more enthusiasm.

Finally, in my opinion, if we have a roof over our heads, having adequate food and clothes, then we are eligible to try our fate in the marketing industry to do something creative of our own. See, I have started already and hope you do too.
